I was never a perfume lover until I turned 21 when I was gifted a perfume by a family member... Since then I've literally got so many and I love them so much. I don't wear perfume every day, but whenever I want to feel better about myself or just lift my mood a little I spritz some on and feel amazing. My favourite scents for myself are quite feminine, floral scents with hints of vanilla, fairly summery scents actually. I adore the Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' and the Vera Wang 'Princess' ranges, I like the way the scents are similar but suit different moods and occasions... Plus they're such pretty bottles 😍

Exploring England

 

Roughly a week ago my mama and I travelled to The Cotswolds to visit Birdland Park and Gardens in Bourton-On-The-Water. The village itself is between Oxford, Gloucester and Cirencester, however we stayed in a hotel in Cheltenham and travelled to the village as we know Gloucestershire well from many years of holidays there during my teenage years. My mama has a slightly bizarre obsession with penguins, therefore for her birthday we wanted to do something she would enjoy and so Birdland was an obvious choice to combine two ideas; fun and animals.

Possibly the strangest thing about Birdland is that there is no glass like is in London Zoo; you can practically touch the Penguins, and indeed many of the other animals. For example, chickens just seem to roam free around the park. Its surroundings are incredibly rural, next to a river canal and even inside the park itself there are many wide growths and almost forest-like areas, allowing the birds to feel more at home in a natural habitat. We watched the Penguins being feed alongside a speech from one of the keepers. He explained and answered questions about how the Penguins deal with such hot weather and also more in depth about the different kinds of Penguins they have.

It's fascinating to watch the animal being fed, as the most enjoyable part of the feeding process is the talks given to audience alongside the feeding. You can watch flamingos and Pelicans being fed, as well as the Penguins. However the largest crowd was at the penguin feeding. 'Meet a Keeper' is another interesting activity to do whilst you're there,many the fact that all of these activities are free is pretty incredible, especially considering the low cost of the ticket price to enter the park. During the meet a keeper session you can ask questions and even hold some animals, such as the tortoises; children seemed to love getting to be close to the animals.

We also made our way around the park, seeing flamingos, pelicans, some reptiles and many others. The park is more conversation than a zoo and is constantly breeding new animals, including baby Penguins. There are so many different birds, some in aviaries and some flying free. Aside from seeing animals, as a nature reserve it's also a beautiful place to sit and enjoy company and simply watch the world go by, which I did whilst eating ice cream from the café; it's nice to enjoy your surroundings without any hassle or masses of people around. Even in the middle of the summer holidays it was fairly stress-free and chilled out. Having now visited Birdland twice, (the first time in December) I can guarantee that it's definitely worth the trip and different every time. A great alternative day out :)

I have been following Megan for what feels like ages, and I love how she keeps it so personal with pictures of family and friends as well as the things she loves such as her favourite bands (The Smiths, for example) or her growing tattoo collection. As I previously studied art and photography at university I also enjoy seeing her architecturally based photographs of Northern England, makes me think I should visit one day even if I am a proud Londoner! Haha.

I have no idea how I started following Paige, but I don't regret it. Not only does she have a blog (the url is the same as her username), she also posts a variety of different make up looks and DIYs alongside personal style posts. However I would say she's not an atypical fashion instagrammer, because her account has a lot of personal posts as well, such as photos with friends and recently some of her birthday.

Olivia is very much a style blogger/instagrammer (her blog url is the same username). Very much a hipster, vintage styled fashionista; her love of denim and stripes definitely shines through about 80% of her outfits, aha! She's definitely the epitome of London cool complete with sunglasses, Polaroid camera and a bicycle. Another reason that I really like her posts is she's based in a similar area of London to me and so I recognise some of the streets she photographs.

I really enjoy Emma's happy go lucky posts and appreciative views of nature mixed in with fashion and lifestyle; laden with food posts about cake or chocolate, baking is definitely one of her passions. She has a massive love for cats and her overall style is very classically feminine and cute with lots of skater dresses and this is in line with her photographic style; a little quirky and a little adventurous.

An obvious lover of vintage clothing, Ellie has the quirkiest personal style that I've ever seen, mixed in alongside travel post, art and disposable photography. Her posts are littered with collages and sketches of fashions that she's seen and liked, as well as some more random enjoyable moments with friends. She's probably best described as a chameleon as her make-up, hair and accessories are matched to every outfit. 

A month in Instagram photos! • SEPTEMBER!

Hi everyone!

It's been quite a while since my last post (again) but in my defence a LOT has happened during that time and so I'm kicking off October with a late month of instagram photos, which I hope you'll enjoy. My instagram name is @artaccessoriesattireblog do give me a follow if you can, I'll really appreciate it ;) During September, I started my final year at university (hurrah!) and indulged in the Pandora free bracelet promotion which was naughty but a nice treat.

As you can see, many of these photographs feature my puppy, Star and she's also featured in a couple of other posts on here; sadly, on the 26th of September she died in the night, in my nanas arms. She was a beautiful little girl, full of life and love. She made every person in my house love, laugh, cry and live and without her the house feels empty. She was so special but everyday I smile more as I remember her, my pet and my selfie buddy.

Chocolate also features in this post, thanks a lovely set of friends who gave me flowers and chocolate as well as an evening of their lives to help me relax and grieve which was amazing and so thoughtful. So overall, September definitely had some highs and lows, but I can look back at all of the photographs with happiness knowing that at least I have happy memories. Heres to a new month and hard work ahead of me, eeeeek final year I'm dreading it all already! Wish me luck and see you all soon, Rach x x x

An industrial city river walk...

Hi everyone! As you have probably seen, my puppy Star is a 'Jug'; a Jack Russell/Pug X and so she needs walking literally everyday where possible. Her favourite walk is along the river where I live, probably one of the more industrial views available! As I'm going back to university later on this month and I'm struggling a little inspiration wise, my grandmother had the brainwave of telling me to take my camera out when I took Star out for a walk with my mum.

I have to say, if there is one thing I do love about living in a city is the lights and shapes that that reflect everywhere, as seen in the water/ripples in many of these photographs. Sometimes its good to just take photographs for no real reason, just relax and capture whats in front of you, especially when the sky/sunset is as lovely as this one was. I do love autumn, I love it when it starts to get dark and the lights seem to get brighter and it gets to that stage when a coat is completely necessary. Ahhh, autumn!

Wish I'd remembered to use a tripod though, as my hands are terrible for being incredibly shaky and quite a few times I had to use gates or walls for support and to minimise shakiness in the images. I do live near a variety of London's most famous landmarks, and a few of them are featured in these photographs, I must have looked like a tourist, haha. I think that you can sometimes ignore what is right in front of you if you're not careful, so maybe I need to learn to be more grateful about what where I live has to offer me, inspiration wise.

I'm aware this is a bit of a random post, but I feel like I need to be more proactive when it comes to blogging, so here we are :) a post is a post, and I'm trying my best to post more frequently and not post the same old things. Jo and Liam get hitched! ● Part Two

Hiya everyone, and welcome to Part Two of the Jo and Liam get Hitched! Realistically, these posts are more like one BIG post, but in all honesty I don't think all of the photographs could have made it into one post without being too much. This wedding had so many little cute details, like the rainbow tissue paper in string covered baked bean cans, rainbow bunting and balloons, coke and lemonade bottles… The bride had rainbow themed nails too!

My present to the bride was a Pandora bracelet with a variety of charms including a cute bride&groom charm which is shown in one of the photographs. Each of the bridesmaids got an unexpected present, a little necklace in the shade of their rainbow colour; was a lovely touch and not something I even thought of as it was an honour to chosen at all! Most of the photographs on this second post are from the reception, of the bride&grooms family and friends, and many group photographs of the bridesmaids… I have to say I wasn't impressed at the thought of rainbow bridesmaids but actually in reality it didn't look bad at all, plus the dresses were a really flattering shape.

Overall it was an amazing day and a pleasure to have been a bridesmaid and witness their love. It was definitely a day to remember and one that I will hold dear to me for a long time - even if the bride did brake one of my decorations by mistake! [don't worry, I forgave her and fixed it] haha, but at least it makes for a good story. So yes, if someone would like to get married soon that'd be great, as I now am obsessed with literally everything about weddings and I loved being a bridesmaid. Plus, there aren't many colours worse than orange I guess? :p
