My Perfume Collection #9

Hello again, it feels like a while since I'd updated you all on my perfume collection. In all honesty, it's a bit of a naughty addiction as I doubt anyone in this world needs as many perfumes as I actually have, but still... I can never resist a good perfume. I love the smell and how much more confident I feel when I'm wearing perfume. It's most likely all in my mind but I just feel like I look better whenever I have a perfume I love on. Different perfumes remind me of different good times, for example I wore a Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume to my graduation ceremony from university so it will forever remind me of finally feeling free from education. The past couple of months I've been fairly good and not spent too much money on things like perfume so this one was a bit of a spur of the moment purchase. 

 

I'd been lusting after the Britney Spears Rocker Femme Fantasy for quite a while after seeing it listed on fragrantica. It was released a few years ago in 2014 and I actually found it in a shop I'd never have thought about; my local Poundland had a bunch of perfumes available to buy for £8 and for that price 30ml seemed like an absolute steal as I'd seen it listed for more than that on various online retailers, so I was super excited to finally get my grubby paws on this perfume. It's a much smaller bottle than my other Britney Spears perfumes but as I didn't pay much that seems fair. It's quite a flirty, fruity scent with notes of blackberry liqueur and coconut cream, alongside violet, gardenia, jasmine, amber, musk, cashmere and vanilla. For me personally the strongest notes of the scent are the blackberry, jasmine and vanilla notes. I have to say that it's not my favourite of the Britney scents, but I doubt that Island Fantasy will ever be topped for me a that smell of lime is absolutely lush!

 

The bottle is very similar to many of the other scents from the Britney fragrance line, with a circular, curvy bottle, transparent circular lid and a swirly pattern around the neck of the bottle. It's definitely an edgier perfume from the look of the bottle but to me ithe scent is very similar to the original Fantasy. The mix of hot pink and black fits well with the idea of feminine rock chick; this is a perfume that my teenage self would've been obsessed with, but I can't say that I'm a massive fan of the scent as it's very similar to the original to me, but I do really like how the bottle looks and it was incredibly good value for money. It looks nice visually with the Britney Spears Hidden Fantasy perfume as it's a gorgeous cherry red shade which complements th pink tones of Rocker Femme Fantasy. I feel like the pink and red tones of the two Britney perfumes work really well alongside Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush and Daisy Dream Blush by Marc Jacobs as they're all very girly, fruity, floral and flirty scents that look lovely together on display in my bedroom.

 

Although it's not my favourite from my collection of Britney Spears perfumes as I've said earlier I do love how the pretty the bottle is and I've found that it complements so many other perfumes from my collection, such as Rosa Excelsa by Dolce and Gabbana, Hippie Princess and Preppy Princess both by Vera Wang as well as Dolly Girl by Anna Sui. The different shades of pink complement each other really well and give a lovely girly feel to one corner of my room. I think that I'll prefer wearing Rocker Femme Fantasy during the spring and summer months when there's much less wind! I hate putting on a scent when it just gets blown away... That being said, for £8 it has been well and truly worth every penny. Britney perfumes are a great part of my collection as they're wearable, affordable and lovely to look at.

 

How I Edit Photos on an iPhone

 

 

 

The above three photographs show the three main stages of how I edit using my iPhone. The first image is the flatlay that I prepare on a cream fluffy rug, (that cost me £8), as having a nice background genuinely makes all the difference to your photography. I've found that having a neutral coloured background really makes the items you're photographing stand out. I studied photography at A Level and at university but I actually take all of my blog and instagram photos using the camera on my iPhone 6S. If you can't afford lots of expensive equipment there are definitely ways around it. On my iPhone I've made a folder (called Essentials) of really useful photography apps (other than instagram) to use for blogging. The first app I use is VSCO which is great for adjusting brightness, contrast and natural filters. My preferred filer is F2 as it really picks up the cream background of the rug and makes the whole photograph look much less dull. Although there was actually nothing wrong with the original photograph, I feel like with the filter it does look much more put together and appealing to an audience.

 

If I need to make a collage of photos; for example when I write posts about what photographs I've posted to instagram in a month I like to try and condense the amount of photographs in a post as I'm aware of how image heavy posts can be to an audience. The app Fotor is so easy to use for beginners upwards as it clearly lays out different layouts for different amounts of photographs. Once you've picked a layout (for example of 9 photos) you literally pick 9 photos and it slots them in for you. From there you can choose curved or straight edges and different border thicknesses, which is another nice feature. I use this app regularly and have a lot of success with it as it's so simple to use.

 

Another holy grail app in my collection for blogging is Repix; I actually found out about it through reading a post by Lauren about different ways to edit photos for instagram and as a result I've found an app that I really love. It does quite a lot of different things, but you need to purchase more access. I have the standard access which suits me fine as the only option I use is the Flares effect. It allows me to draw light flares with my fingers that give off a bokeh style effect, one that's often used by photographers. I'm my own worst critic and thought that my photography was really lacking and desperately needed improvement. Through editing using these apps I feel like my blog photography has come a long way; one of the best parts of blogging is learning as you go along, and learning from reading and admiring other blogs, which is exactly what I did. Yes, I did study photography but I still had (and have) so much to learn, which I'm trying my best to embrace. Hopefully this will help someone out there that's struggling to take the perfect photograph! Much love xx

 

Ted Baker Gift Set

Hello again; I've been on the hunt for a make up bag that small enough to fit into my work bag but big enough to fit in all of the essentials. A the minute I'm loving the Ted Baker selection as they're also available as a gift set which is fantastic as the price point of £14 for the set is affordable as well as being good quality. The pattern of my make up bag is rather unusual; it's several shades of pink, lilac and aqua (which is very pretty) with a printed design of crystals all over alongside rose gold zip and edged detailing. There is an embossed Ted Baker label in rose gold and the zip has a pink crystal to match the pattern. It's not a pattern that I would've thought I'd like but in person it's much nicer than it sounds. The bag itself is really structured and doesn't crush into weird shapes, it stays taut which is a feature that I really love. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it as I've never thought of Ted Baker being a brand that I love, however I'm not thinking to try out other products from the brand.

 

 

Inside the make up bag there is three items that are perfect for everyday essential use. A lip balm, hand cream and a body mist, all of which are in the loveliest pale shade of pink that matches the lining of the make up bag. When I go to work or out somewhere I don't like to carry around masses of products in a make up bag, as I prefer to keep my make up simple. These three items are an excellent way to care for yourself itself on the go and the hand cream is absolutely lovely, it's so moisturising and fresh smelling. I've mixed the three items with some make up products that I love to use for minimal make up like mascara, lip stick, brow gel and bb cream. I never was a fan of Ted Baker as a brand but since buying this gift set I'll definitely be indulging in more items from the brand as it's all great quality.

 

Happy Things #7

 

1. Finally after working six days in row, I have a day off where I plan to relax and literally sit and recharge my batteries, ready for a new week ahead with a positive frame of mind.

2. I'm currently in the midst of rebuilding a close relationship with my best friend from sixth form, which is lovely as it's nice to remember the old times and reflect on how much we've changed and grown as people since we were seventeen.

3. Seeing my best friend for dinner this weekend which will be great. Having some weekends off is amazing as it gives me the opportunity to keep in touch and catch up with her as often as I can as she's a fantastic friend. She always manages to pick me up when I'm down.

4. I've reached a point where I'm comfortable with liking wearing make up and not wearing make up. Which is great as when I'd just started my new job I was super self conscious and therefore make up became like a form of confidence mask. Now I've realised how stupid that is; instead I'm wearing it only for myself and for the right reasons.

5. Sometimes it's ok not to be ok; not everyday, or week will be fantastic and I'm learning (very) slowly that is fine. Sometimes you have to ride a rollercoaster, even if it terrifies you.

 

My Perfume Collection #8

In all honesty, it feels like my perfume collection grows a ridiculous amount every month; although most people would also likely say that my perfume collection is excessive, but... I absolutely adore having a pretty set of bottles stare at me from every angle of my room and I wouldn't change it in any way, shape or form. My favourite kind of perfume bottle are usually the brightly coloured, very pink, sparkly and floral kind. Which is why I've been in love with the Marc Jacobs Daisy scents for a long time; I'm talking about before I even owned any of them, back when I was in school and used to read Vogue and other magazines, wishing I would one day earn enough money to spoil myself with nice things.

 

Daisy Black Edition is a relatively new find for me collection; it's supposed to be the 'luxury version' to the original Daisy, but for me personally I love the way that it looks. The mixture of the harsh black bottle paired with shiny golden daisies that make up the lid is something that genuinely appeals to my tastes. The fragrance is actually the same as the original Daisy and as this one is more expensive I decided to be a massive cheapskate and buy an empty bottle for all of £3 from eBay instead, as ultimately I wanted this bottle for the looks and not the smell. As it was released in 2008, it was relatively difficult to find cheaply full, anyway so I'm not missing out at all. I love how it looks with the other Daisy Perfume bottles.

Another bottle that I'd been online and been actively lusting after was Daisy Hot Pink; I actually thought that I'd never manage to find this bottle as the fragrance was released in 2011 but I actually struck lucky on eBay. I was bidding on what I thought was an empty bottle but when it arrived I found out it was actually half full, so for £10 I was incredibly chuffed. The bottle is very similar to the Daisy Black Edition with a black bottle base and three hot pink daisies with gold centres. With notes of strawberry, gardenia, violet, jasmine, birch and cedar it's a very wild forest smell and I find that it feels nice against the skin, but ultimately I love how it looks with its sister fragrances on the dressing table.

 

Another successful but unexpected eBay find was Daisy Bloom which, incredibly was brand new in box and cellophane, so for £24 it was an absolute steal. It was released in 2009 so I was super excited to find it so unexpectedly; the bottle is very similar to the original Daisy but with leaf green daisies on the lid instead of white. It's brightness somehow reminds me of long summer days and the scent itself is actually the same as the original Daisy which was a bit of a disappointment as I was hoping that it would be a different fragrance but I still love it a lot. It's a full 50ml bottle and looks great as a cute addition to my collection.

 

The last two new additions to my perfume collection are Dot and Daisy Silver Edition, both of which are empty bottles. I'm planning to buy a full Dot perfume as I've fallen in love with the style of this bottle. I love how the red and black polka dots give the illusion of a ladybug that is embodying a flower and the pearls are a nice added detail. Whereas Daisy Silver Edition was a bit of a random buy and for an excellent price. It's a 100ml bottle, with a metallic silver bottle and metallic gold Daisy petals that make up the lid. The centre of the daisies are metallic silver to match the bottle. Released in 2009, I was never expecting to find this perfume and even better for £6! I thought it was an empty bottle but there is probably 20ml left so I've had a smell of the fragrance but unlikely to use it much as I don't have a lot of it to use. A variation of the original Daisy, this version adds strawberries, violet, pink grapefruit, gardenia, jasmine and vanilla which makes it feel very feminine and fairly woody and wild. If I could find a full version, I would without a doubt.

 

A month in Instagram #7

 

Hello again, as you all know I'm a huge lover of the phone app instagram. I'll often be sat on a bus, lying in bed or on a break at work and finding myself almost mindlessly scrolling through and finding various kinds of inspiration for blogposts, lifestyle or beauty purchases. This month. I've been posting most blog related images, although I also posted a couple of photographs in relation to the new year (I actually really enjoyed the start to this year, spending it with friends and my boyfriend) and starting a new job/saying goodbye to another.

I like using Instagram as a kind of visual diary, similarly to blogging although it feels a little more personal in terms of what I post, for example photos of my workmates or my dog. That said, I definitely want to get more involved with blogging and hopefully get more involved in the blogging community. Instagram is a good way of looking through memories as you can keep them forever. I like to go through my feed every few months and look back on good moments as I try to post only positive things to keep my mind in a more positive frame. Here's to having a good February! :)

 

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sorbet Collection Review

 

As I've already mentioned, in the last few months I had been on a mission to find as many of the Marc Jacobs Daisy limited edition fragrances as I could. Daisy Sorbet and Daisy Eau So Fresh Sorbet proved to be some of the hardest limited editions to find, which was a surprise considering that they were only released in 2015 so are fairly recent. There are two bottles in this collection but in the image above there are three bottles because I have two versions of Daisy Sorbet; one full and one empty. It is amazing how much even empty versions of these bottles sell for on eBay, let alone full or slightly used bottles. At this point my overall collection is incredibly vast, but I'm relying on finding second hand bottles now.

Daisy Sorbet is a 50ml perfume and a variation of the original Daisy; a clear bottle filled with lilac fragrance and topped off with a Daisy triplet as the lid. The daisies are coloured in vibrant shades of dark pink, dark purple and a semi-opaque pale pink in different sizes with gold centres. Visually, I really like Daisy Sorbet especially as part of a the Sorbet or Daisy sets as the colour variations match really nicely. The scent itself of passion fruit, pink grapefruit, please, lily, jasmine, wisteria, musk, cedar and violet. I was surprised by how powerful I found this scent, it lasts well but it feels really strong on my skin so as a result of that I don't love it; the smell is nice but too strong for me. It's quite floral but also fruity, similar to the other scents in the Daisy range. With an RRP of £52, I was lucky to find this for £27 on eBay so comparatively I paid very little for this fragrance.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Sorbet is a variation of the original Daisy Eau So Fresh and comes in a 75ml bottle. Visually, the bottle fits nicely next to its sister fragrance, Daisy Sorbet but is taller and with more daisies on the lid. The bottle is clear and hold a pale pink fragrance inside, topped off with a Daisy bouquet lid. The daisies are in shades of dark pink, dark purple and a semi-opaque pale pink with gold centres. The daisies are in different sizes and hide a gold spritzer that releases the fragrance. The scent seems very oriental inspired to me, smelling of mandarin, apple blossom, lotus, magnolia, jasmine, violet, crazy woods and musk. It's very citrus-based mixed in with musky scented florals. I prefer this out of the two sister scents, but it's still not my favourite out of the Daisy range. The RRP is £59, so I was very lucky to find my version for all of £5, although it literally was so empty I had about 5ml of fragrance left which was a shame.

 

Similarly to the Daisy Delight collection, I absolutely adore the advertisements and posters that were circulating around the time of the release of the Daisy Sorbet; I love purples and pinks and so this limited edition was like my personal favourite kind of perfume. I love how the Daisy range visually looks, collectively and individually and I'm a massive lover of floral based scents so if I'm honest all of them suit my taste, although some more than others. The Sorbet collection are not my favourite in the Daisy range fragrance wise, they're a bit too musky, too strong for me but visually they're some of my favourites as the delicate use of shades of pink and purple is totally to my taste.

 

My Perfume Collection #7

Hello again, whoever is reading this.As anyone who has been reading this blog for a while will know how much I love the Marc Jacobs Daisy fragrances. Actually the Marc Jacobs fragrances in general are a particular love of mine. For the last couple of months I've been on a personal mission to collect as many of the limited edition series of bottles as it is possible to do. In the image below you can see Daisy Sorbet, Delight, Black Edition, Sunshine and Blush all in the 50ml versions. I love the way that the bottles look as a set, how the designs and colours match well visually together.

 

I also love the Daisy Eau So Fresh collection of perfumes and have been slowly collecting the whole range of these too, although I still have a while to go with this collection. These perfumes are the 75ml versions and the bottles visually look very similar to the smaller bottles but with a larger bouquet of daisies on the lid of the bottles. At the moment I have Daisy Eau So Fresh, Daisy Eau So Fresh Delight, Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine and Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush. Many of these perfumes correspond with the smaller perfumes as they're from the same limited edition collections. What I love about Marc Jacobs perfumes is that they all seem to work beautifully as a set whilst not being identical. I'm a sucker for feminine, floral scents.

 

I've also been looking at scents by Marc Jacobs outside of the Daisy range, which is why I bought Oh! Lola as a starting point. More recently I've been purchasing empty bottles or used bottles from eBay as they're much cheaper and much more suited to my current budget. For example, the Daisy Black Edition was purchased for about £4 in total which is an absolute bargain. I love the way that these bottles look and ultimately that's why I don't mind the bottles being empty as I like having the bottles on display together. The Oh! Lola is the 100ml version and is an absolutely huge bottle compared the 50ml Daisy editions; the amount of fragrance is definitely great value for money.

 

The Lola range also has a variety of limited edition scents too and the Oh! Lola Sunsheer is a recent purchase of mine. As my favourite colour is green, the lime green bottle was obviously going to be an automatic favourite of mine. Next to the 100ml version of Oh! Lola it looks absolutely tiny when in reality it's the 50ml version. Since having a larger, 100ml bottle I definitely believe that 50ml is enough for me; I like to own a range of scents and perfume bottles and so 50ml versions are definitely a cheaper option and an easier way to own a wider variety of perfumes.

 

Placing the 50ml Daisy Dream Blush next to the different variations of Oh! Lola you can visually see how they use a variety of pink shades across the perfume bottles, which is why I really love these bottles. The florals and the pinks definitely class these perfumes as very romantic, feminine and dainty which matches the physical smells well; all of those classifications can be applied to the scents themselves too. Through the side by side comparison you can see how large the Lola bottles physically are compared to the other bottles in the range. I definitely want to keep my collection growing as the year goes on, when my budget allows.

 

Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight Collection Review

 

Ever since I first saw and smelt a Daisy fragrance I was literally obsessed to the point that I've recently been on a mission to find as many of the limited edition versions as I can; the Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight and Daisy Eau So Fresh Delight were a limited edition set released back in 2014 and as a result were quite difficult for me to track down, so to speak. I really love the way that the Daisy fragrances look with the Daisy topped lids and I've managed to collect many of the limited editions which is great and also surprising as some of them were released about five years ago.

Daisy Delight is a 50ml bottle and matches the original Daisy shape, as well as being clear. The fragrance inside is a pale mint green with a triple Daisy covered lid in shades of mint green, hot pink and peach with gold centres that hide a gold spritzer. The scent itself is more fruity and woody than the original Daisy with hints of apple, quince flower, freesia, iris, gardenia, peony, sandalwood and cedar. I like the scent, but it's definitely not in my favourites as it feels a little overpowering when sprayed. Although the strong smell is a good thing, the negative is that it doesn't last as long as I would like; after a few hours the smell has gone and you need to reapply which is a little frustrating as the RRP was £48. I paid £21 from eBay so I can't complain for that price.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Delight is a variation of the original Daisy Eau So Fresh and comes in a 75ml bottle with an RRP of £52. The bottle is taller than its sister, Daisy Delight and has a pink fragrance inside. The Daisy bouquet that forms the lid is made up of daisies in shades of mint green, hot pink, peach and white in various sizes centred in gold. Underneath the lid there is a gold spritzer which releases the fragrance. The scent is made up of blood orange, tiare tahiti flower, violet, pink pepper, white tea, amber, raspberry and apricot. Overall it's a fruity and floral fragrance but the smell is fairly strange to me, almost as though it's too fruity and too floral; the mix doesn't seem to fit on my skin well. It could be because I'm not a lover of pepper but I was really disappointed that I wasn't in love with this scent.

 

The promotional materials for these two scents were absolutely to my taste, and I do love how the bottles look, especially when laid out together although I have to admit this limited edition collection wasn't my favourite out of all the other fragrances that I've collected by Marc Jacobs. However, I'm relieved that I bought both of them for less than the RRP considering how little I've used them. Right now they're mostly looking pretty on my dressing table; I'm sure if you're a fan of fruity and floral mixed fragrances that you would adore these, but I seem to prefer the sweeter, more totally floral scents. But they were a definite must have to add to my perfume collection.

 

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine Collection Review

 

A set of limited edition fragrances released in 2012, I spent some time tracking down these fragrances via eBay as they've become fairly difficult to find as they were released a few years ago now. I'm a huge fan of Marc Jacobs scents, this collection was no exception to that rule; I really liked how they're very different to the original versions of these scents but kept the same bottle shapes so they're still recongiseable as a part of the set. The limited edition collections are always interesting as they usually have a theme through the scent, colour or idea. In this case, the collection was definitely made with summer in mind as its full of bright colours, florals and fruity undertones. The main issue with any Marc Jacobs scent is that they're fairly high end price wise; you need to be prepared to spend quite a bit of your money to own a full set, but they are worth the money as they look and smell amazing.

Daisy Sunshine

An alternative scent to the original Daisy, visually the bottle is very similar but with a colourful twist; filled with a bright orange fragrance and topped with three daisies in different sizes in green, orange and hot pink. I quite like how the bottle looks, as its like a brighter version of the original which is nice. I'm not usually a fan of bright colours, but this bottle makes me feel fairly optimistic when I look at it. The smell is lovely, with notes of spring blossoms, lychee, mandarin, red currant, guava, violet and lily of the valley. The Sunshine theme is definitely apparent with the burst of bright colours and the sunny flavours of fresh fruits alongside some florals. The RRP of this scent was £49, which is fairly expensive but the smell does last for a few hours and feels lovely against the skin which is a bonus.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine

Possibly my favourite scent not only of this collection, but out of all of the Marc Jacobs fragrances that I own. Visually, it's a nice bottle with a pink fragrance inside topped off with a Daisy bouquet in varying sizes in shades of purple, hot pink, lime green and bright orange all centered with gold and used to hide a gold spritzer. It's not my favourite selection of colours, but it fits well with the theme of Sunshine and therefore is a good reminder of long summer days. The scent is beautiful, smelling of fruit blossom, strawberry, pink grapefruit, jasmine, rose, violet leaves, amber and oak moss. I can't even describe how much I love it, I feel really confident when I wear it. I've found that it lasts (like many other Marc Jacobs fragrances) for a few hours, and I genuinely do like the feel of it against my skin. The original price was around £54, which is fairly expensive but considering how much I adore this scent, I would be more than willing to pay that price over and over again.

Oh Lola! Sunsheer

I absolutely love the look of this bottle, with its lime green base topped off with a large pink rose and matching green leaf attached to the neck of the bottle with a silver wire shape. I think it looks really lovely and is a great visual alternative to the other Lola fragrances. The scent itself smells of raspberry, strawberry, pear, peony, magnolia, cyclamen, vanilla and sandalwood. In all honesty, I'm not a massive fan of this scent, it lasts very well but the smell itself isn't one that I'm crazy for; I can't explain why. I think it smells a little lacklustre, all I can smell is bland pear which is a massive shame as I really wanted to love it. The original price for this perfume was £45 which does seem really excessive to me as I'm not a fan of the scent. That said, I really love the design of the bottle so it was a genuine disappointment to not love the scent.

 

Marc Jacobs Daisy Blush Collection Review

 

As you've all probably realised by now, I'm absolutely obsessed with perfumes and the Marc Jacobs perfumes are some of my all time favourites; mostly because of the way they look but they also smell amazing. The Blush Collection was released in 2016 and marketed as being for the sophisticated. To be honest, as soon as I saw this collection I was desperate to be able to own all three fragrances as they look beautiful. Seeing the original versions compared to these limited editions, the shades of pink really does add a special pop to the range and I think it makes the bottle designs even more appealing. Although with all of these things in mind, it's also important to remember that these scents are definitely not cheap; in fact, they're definitely leaning closer to high end. I love perfumes, to the point that I collect them; I've even bought empty bottles from eBay. When I saw that Marc Jacobs had a new collection out, a feminine, pink based collection, I knew straightaway that I would be in love and need the whole collection in my life. Now that I have the three fragrances, I thought that I would write a blog detailing the differences between the three and which one is my favourite.

Daisy Blush

A variation of the original Daisy, it comes in a pretty pink bottle with three daisies on the lid in varying shades of pink and three different sizes, matching the original with the gold centres that hide a gold spritzer. The scent matches the very feminine feels of the bottle, with notes of lily of the valley, honeysuckle, mimosa, waterlily, pear, bergamot, musk and wood. I do like the scent very much, but the price tag of £54 for 50ml feels a little excessive; however for a limited edition scent it's probably worth it. I like the smell and it holds well on the skin, but it's not my favourite of the three new editions. I love perfume so much that I knew I needed to collect all three perfumes when I saw them.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush

This version is probably the best value for the money as its a 75ml bottle. A variation of the original Daisy Eau So Fresh, it's a more feminine styling, using a pink bottle with a bouquet of daisies on the lid in different sizes and shades of pink with gold centres; I actually really love the feminine twists that are the main pull of the Blush collection. The bottles visually appeal to me very much. Again, the price of this scent is fairly expensive, priced at £59 but you do get more fragrance for that small difference in price. The scent itself is very light and easy to wear, smelling of violet, waterlily, bergamot, freesia, rose, lily of the valley, musk and vetiver. I like the scent more than Daisy Blush but it doesn't last as long on the skin, which is a shame. 

Daisy Dream Blush

A new limited version of the original Daisy Dream, for me personally this is my favourite of the collection; I adore the way that the pink tones have made an already beautifully designed bottle much more feminine and the smell of the fragrance is also amazing. Smelling of violet leaves, pear, water lily, honeysuckle, rose blossom and freesia, it is an incredibly romantic scent. It lasts fairly well on the skin, roughly the same amount of time as Daisy Blush which is a few hours; not bad compared to Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush which definitely has the least longevity. It feels great against the skin and visually looks great with a pink bottle with pink cut out Daisy accents and a silver lid filled with pink daisies with gold centres. All of the fragrances are similar, but this fragrance is the one that feels the most expensive, which for the price £54, it should do.

 

My Perfume Collection #6

 

So back when I was in university, I owned two perfumes that I wore literally every other day. These were Daisy and Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs. I wore these scents so much that I used up the bottles and threw them away, which now makes me sad as the bottles are so pretty. When I was younger I had a bad habit of using perfumes and then just throwing the bottles away, which I massively regret now as some of the bottles were limited edition. Since I've got into collecting perfume bottles, I've been on a mission to recollect some of my old favourites, most recently being most of the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfumes. I paid £55 and it was definitely worth the price.

 

Daisy Eau So Fresh

This perfume is one of my favourite scents ever, it was the one that I chose to wear to my university graduation and I felt so comfortable and confident wearing it. I love how the bottle looks, a tall clear bottle with pale pink fragrance inside and topped with a daisy bouquet in pink, yellow and white with gold centres that covers the gold spritzer. The scent itself is gorgeous; it's incredibly floral and fruity, with notes of grapefruit, raspberry, pear, jasmine, rose, violet, litchi, apple blossom and plum. This perfume isn't a limited edition, thankfully as I repurchased it twice already. It came out in 2011.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Delight

This scent was one of the first limited edition perfumes that I bought and I did so because I loved the original Daisy Eau So Fresh so much. Visually, the bottle is very similar, with the exception of the daisy bouquet being in shades of hot pink, peach, white and green with the gold centres topping off the gold spritzer. It looks really lovely next to its sister perfumes. The scent itself is made up of pink pepper, white tea, blood orange, tahiti flower, raspberry, violet, apricot and amber. I was lucky enough to have purchased this scent twice, as well. Most recently, I snapped it up from eBay for £30 but the RRP was £59 as it was released in 2014.

 

Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine

Another limited edition scent, this one is a more recent purchase and I was very lucky to get it. This perfume is now of my all time favourites with its beautiful aesthetic take on its sister perfumes. It is also in a tall, clear bottle but with pink fragrance inside, topped off with a dazzling daisy bouquet in shades of orange, violet, hot pink and lime green with gold centres and all sitting on a gold spritzer. It's a very fruity scent with flavours of strawberry, apple blossom, pink grapefruit, jasmine, rose, violet leaves, amber and oak moss. Created in 2012, I managed to find it very recently on eBay for the bargain price of £34 and its my new favourite at the moment, I've been wearing it more or less everyday.

Daisy Sunshine

This is the triplet sister scent to the Eau So Fresh and also a limited edition version of Daisy that was released in 2012. was incredibly lucky to find this scent for the very silly price of £18 courtesy of eBay. The bottle is a small, clear one in the same shape as the Eau So Fresh ranges; however the fragrance inside is a bright yellow and the daisies that make up the lid are in a triplet ranging in size. The colours of the daisy triplet are lime green, orange and hot pink that make up the lid that hides the gold spritzer. Overall the look is very summery and the scent is so pretty, smelling of mandarin, guava, red currant, lily of the valley, lychee and violet. Like the other daisy scents it is very fruity mixed with florals. I personally love all of the scents in the range.

 

Daisy Sorbet

Another limited edition, it was released in 2011. I have to say this one is not my favourite but goes well with the rest of the range. The bottle is the same as Daisy Sunshine in size and shape, but the fragrance inside the bottle is a pale lilac shade. The triplet daisies are in the colours purple, dark pink and translucent lilac with gold centres hiding a gold spritzer. Visually it's very pretty and looks lovely next to the other scents. I paid £23.50 from eBay which was a great price as its hard to find. The scent itself is of pink grapefruit, pear, passion fruit, wisteria, jasmine, cedar, violet wood and lily of the valley. It's not that I don't like the scent, because I do, but it's the not the one that I would reach for first. 

 

Daisy Blush

I bought this scent very recently for the price of £45 which for a limited edition wasn't too bad but was fairly expensive. It was also the most recently released of all of my perfumes as its from the 2016 limited collection. Visually it looks lovely with the rest of the collection as the bottle is the same shape and size as the other Daisy perfumes, with a clear bottle. By the name Blush it was going to be a very pink scent and it doesn't disappoint; a soft pink fragrance inside the bottle and the Daisy triplet on the lid is in three shades of pink with gold centres hiding a gold spritzer. The fragrance is so quintessentially feminine, smelling of honeysuckle, lily of the valley, pear, mimosa and bergamot. It definitely smells of a soft summers day and was a great addition as I wear it all the time.

Daisy Dream Blush

Another more recent fragrance, a sister, if you like to Daisy Blush; it was released in 2015 and the bottle is so pretty, consisting of a round, clear bottle with pink cutout daisies and topped off with a round silver lid with pink scattered daisies. The daisies on the lid have gold centres that match a gold strip around the neck of the bottle that separates the lid from the spritzer. The scent is the same pretty pink as Daisy Blush. At the moment this is my favourite scent, smelling of pear, water lily, honeysuckle, violet leaves, roses, freesia, rose blossoms and petals. It's feels very romantic to wear and very delicate against the skin. I paid £23.50 from eBay which was a fantastic find.

 

My Perfume Collection #5

Over the past couple of months, my Perfume Collection has expanded a lot; I've become a bit more careful about where I buy from and the price that I pay for perfume, as if you look around enough you can find online good prices that you won't find in stores. There are several discount websites that offer good brands for good prices, and eBay is another good choice if you don't mind paying for slightly used items. I bought Mademoiselle Ricci L'eau by Nina Ricci for the bargain price of £14.95 for 30ml; because I looked around and researched different sites and prices, similarly with Hidden Fantasy by Britney Spears. I paid £12.50 for the 100ml which was a fantastic price for the size of the perfume. Very fruity, floral and fresh, with notes of stargazer lily, orange, tangerine, grapefruit blossom, jasmine and amber, it lasts for a few hours but smells amazing and feels nice on the skin, too. Like the other Fantasy fragrances, it comes in a round bottle, in the colourtones of red with pink crystals scattered around and looks lovely as a part of the Fantasy set. I now own 5 different Fantasy perfumes and love all of them.

 

I was so excited to finally get my grubby little paws on Daisy Blush by Marc Jacobs after seeing so many bloggers review the limited edition Blush series of perfumes. I bought the 50ml bottle for £45, which was very pricey but the smell is lovely. With notes of pear, water lily, honeysuckle, lily of the valley, mimosa and bergamot the fragrance is very floral with a hint of musk. The bottle itself is very cute, with the fragrance as a pretty pink shade inside the clear bottle and topped off with 3 daisies in different shades of pink with gold centres sitting as a lid over the spritzer. As this is a limited edition fragrance I felt like I couldn't wait any longer as they don't get sold forever. Which is good, as it gave me the push to purchase, but also dangerous as it meant it was a bit of a spur of the moment purchase... Oops. I don't regret it, as it's a lovely smell and looks nice with the recast of my collection.

Another Marc Jacobs fragrance that I decided to buy was Daisy Eau So Fresh, which for £44 and 75ml was a good price as the bottle is much bigger than Daisy Blush. I actually wore this perfume for my graduation from university as I love the smell so much, although I have to say I had to keep reapplying it as it didn't seem to last well, which was a shame. That said, the smell is absolutely divine with notes of raspberry, plum, violet, apple, grapefruit, jasmine, rose and tree blossom. I felt really adult and sophisticated when I was wearing it at graduation, and I felt like I needed it in my life again, but this time in the bottle form and not as a sample. The bottle itself is very pretty, with a clear bottle and pale pink fragrance coming through; there's a burst of flowers that make up the lid in white, pale pink and yellow with gold centres that cap off the spritzer. The Daisy fragrances have a very distinctive feature through the floral lids and as such, they look absolutely lovely when on display.

 

I bought another perfume by Vera Wang, although I didn't buy from her Princess range; I purchased Lovestruck Floral Rush for the excellent price of £19 but the bottle is tiny, even for 30ml which was a bit of a disappointment. It has an interesting smell and I'm not sure if I like it yet; I definitely don't love it and I don't see it becoming a favourite fragrance of mine any time soon. It has notes of champagne, apricot blossom, pink pepper, freesia, Passion flower, marigold and cashmere food. I usually love floral scents but I haven't gelled with this one properly yet; it feels a little too flowery and sweet to the point that it's a little sickly. However the bottle is very pretty, with a small rectangular shape, shaded in purple with Lovestruck written in lime green surrounded by a heart and arrow. The lid of the bottle is what makes this perfume so visually pleasing, with several purple tulips topped off by a purple and lime green patterned bow covering the spritzer. It looks nice paired with the Marc Jacobs Daisy range. 

The latest addition to my Perfume Collection is the Rosa Excelsa by Dolce and Gabbana, having smelt it in duty free at the airport in Poland, I knew that I had to have it... I love the smell instantly and Piotr loved it too, so it was one I knew I would love. However it's an expensive scent and so I decided that I should wait until I have the money. I actually found this scent on eBay for £29, so I snapped it up as the RRP is £55; quite a large difference in the price! I have the 50ml bottle. I don't regret buying this perfume whatsoever, it lasts for ages on my skin and I feel very feminine and pretty whenever I wear it. I adore floral scents and this one consists of papaya blossom, white amaryllis, water lily, daffodil, neroli leaves,  Turkish rose and African dog rose. The bottle itself is beautiful too, heavy pink frosted glass makes up the rounded shape that holds the fragrance and the lid is a sculpted red rose with a black bow around the neck of the gold spritzer. Overall it's look is very high end and classy and goes well with the other perfumes shown in this part of my collection.

I was never a perfume lover until I turned 21 when I was gifted a perfume by a family member... Since then I've literally got so many and I love them so much. I don't wear perfume every day, but whenever I want to feel better about myself or just lift my mood a little I spritz some on and feel amazing. My favourite scents for myself are quite feminine, floral scents with hints of vanilla, fairly summery scents actually. I adore the Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' and the Vera Wang 'Princess' ranges, I like the way the scents are similar but suit different moods and occasions... Plus they're such pretty bottles 😍
