Monthly Playlist: November & December

Hello guys; the past couple of months have simply flown by for me! My boyfriend has started a new job and I’ve been working a lot, as well as enjoying some general me time. Part of me feels guilty for neglecting the blog, particularly as it was such a good outlet for me when I wasn’t feeling my best in terms of mental health but unfortunately sometimes life is for living and the extra work of writing and uploading blog posts was an extra something that I simply didn’t have any time for. Over the past couple of months I’ve noticed that I’ve been listening to music a lot less as I’ve been suffering with some painful tension headaches, so I’ve been preferring to read as opposed to listening to a variety of sounds. It feels like it has been years since I’ve not listened to music whilst on bus journeys but I needed a bit of a break. I have, however, been listening to the songs below on speakers which makes for nice background noise. Each of these songs brings to the fore a specific memory for me; do any of you have specific songs that you connect with a memory? I’d love to know that it’s not only me haha! Monthly Playlist: September

Hello again guys; it feels to be blogging again, today I spent some time taking photos for some upcoming blog posts and I feel like I’ll definitely try to get back into the swing of it but this month has taken a lot out of me, for some reason. Mental health isn’t an easy thing, it’s not something that’s magically fixed and I feel very lucky to say that my life is going well at the moment so there’s no particular reason for why I’ve felt like shit, but it is what it is. I like to be honest with you, so here it is; life is hard and it’s a struggle. That said, soon there’s a new month which is always a good excuse to be more positive in general. I’m sorry that I’m posting this so late in the month, but it’s better late than never in a way. My music is strange as always, with a mix of artists, genres and styles all muddled in somehow. One of things that I love about using an iPod is that I can put my phone away, press shuffle on the iPod and just fall into the music and forgetting about using social media or anything like that. It’s a great way to disconnect and chill out a little bit. It’s starting to get a bit colder now and even though it’s far away, I can’t wait for Christmas time as it’s a great excuse to bring out the cheesiest music there is. Is it just me that loves a good bit of cheese? I hope you’re all well and I’ll see you again very soon! :)

Monthly Playlist: July

Hello to July and to finally getting organised enough to write a blog post! At the minute I’m not really sure where I’m going with my blog; I love the blogging community and ultimately, I love writing and taking photos so it genuinely is something that I enjoy but at times I’m feeling like I simply am falling out of love with it. I’m a perfectionist and I’m always thinking that my content is shit, regardless of how much or how little effort I put into this blog. However, I work full time and I do enjoy blogging, I think I need to be less hard on myself and not constantly force creativity when it’s not naturally coming along. As always, this is a massive staple blog post and it’s one that I really love; I’m a nosy person and I feel like you can get to know a lot about someone by their musical tastes, so below are a range of songs, artists and genres in no particular order. March Beauty Haul

Hello again guys; it feels like it’s been a while since I’ve blogged a beauty related haul, most of my recent hauls have been book related as you’ll have probably noticed. This is a fairly small haul, but a one with some amazing products, some of which have already started making their way into my everyday make up routine! The Maybelline Rocket Volum’ Express mascara in the shade Very Black is a repurchase for me; I absolutely love this mascara for the way that it volumises, lengthens and separates my lashes for the incredible price of £7.99. I’m a sucker for very dark lashes, I love how this mascara instantly looks dramatic because of how pigmented it is, plus it doesn’t clump much, so it’s great for everyday wear. Another product in this haul that I’ve repurchased is the L’Oréal Paris True Match Concealer in the shade Ivory Rose. I’m lucky in that my skin is fairly clear, other than the odd blemish and dark circles, so generally I prefer to wear concealer rather than going all over with foundation for everyday. This concealer is a lovely consistency, not too thick or thin but nicely buildable; for £7.99 I’m satisfied as it lasts me over a month with regular use so it’s good value for money. It’s one of the only drugstore concealers that I’ve found to be pale enough for my skin with a pink tone, so I feel like this will be a favourite of mine for a long time. Similarly, the Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Latte To Go is now my fourth lipstick from the same range; I love the lightweight formula and the reasonable price of £5.99. I’ve also been impressed with this range of lipsticks because I’ve found it stays on even after eating and drinking for a good few hours, which is always a bonus.

Over the past couple of months I’ve been searching for a drugstore eyebrow gel, as I’ve been using a more mid range one but I do tend to stick to a budget a lot of the time so I wanted one that I could repurchase cheaply if necessary. After reading some good reviews about the NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel I decided to take a risk for the bargain price of £6! I like my brows to look natural but neat, so having a good gel is a necessity; I’ve got really high hopes for this gel as fingers crossed it’ll last the whole day and have a nice smooth formula. I’ve definitely become a bit addicted to highlighters recently, as I ended up with the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter in the shade Pearlescent Sheen in my basket, too! I’ve used so many of these highlighters in various shades and they never disappoint; in fairness, for £3 you can’t really go wrong. It’s a pretty sizeable pan and very pigmented, adding a nice shimmer to create some cheekbones (something I wish I had, haha). I’ve also ended up with highlighter palette, oops. Definitely spent too much on make up this month! However I have been lusting after the MakeUp Revolution x Soph Highlighter Palette for what feels like forever. It’s got a variety of shades and in all honestly it’ll be great for any occasion because you can mix up the make up look you’re going for by using any of the shades in the palette. The price of £8 is reasonable when you consider that there’s 8 shades, so it’s essentially £1 a pan; excellent value for money, although I’ll likely only use the 4 shades that are light enough for my skin tone.

I also ended up with the MakeUp Revolution x Soph Eyeshadow Palette a couple of days later. As much as I was wary about spending another £10 on make up, I’d been tempted by this palette for a while. There are 24 different shades, even mixtures of shades and shimmers and I didn’t have another palette like it, so I feel like I’ll get good use out of it. I doubt that I’ll use every single one of the shades on a regular basis, but there’s plenty of shades that I will use regularly enough to make the money worth it; plus I love the sturdy feel of the palette, it feels like it’ll travel well. Lastly, I purchased the Anna Sui Fantasia 50ml EDT and it feels like forever since I last splurged on a perfume! For £45, it wasnt the cheapest of purchases, but unfortunately perfume is one of those things that I just can’t resist, I wear a bit of perfume every day and I own far too many perfumes. I couldn’t resist the gorgeous bottle of this one; the delicate gold, the unicorn... All of it! I haven’t used it properly yet, but I have smelt the perfume and as I love floral and fruity smells this one was going to be a new love of mine. I do feel a little guilty as I’ve spent a fairy amount of money on beauty related items this month, but I’m hoping that each item will last a while so I can go back to my usual budget for now. March Playlist

Hello again guys; I have to admit that I feel like I’ve lost my blogging mojo this month... I usually post a lot more regularly, with a lot more variety but to be honest I’ve been enjoying reading in the evenings, losing myself in another world so blogging has taken a slight backseat, oops. However, on the way to and from work I’ve been loving listening to music, just like I always have. All of the songs below are in no particular order, as always; I’ve been listening to songs old and new, in different languages and also different genres; I love listening to any kind of music, dependant on my mood but at the minute I’m loving fast paced songs to walk to, or even to wake up to. Favourite YouTubers // Vlogmas Edition!

Hello again guys; it’s now day 9 of Blog,as and it feels like Christmas is creeping ever closer! It’s time to start wrapping presents and writing out Christmas cards, eek. One thing that makes me feel festive automatically is watching Vlogmas videos on YouTube, as there’s something nice about watching how other people prepare and celebrate the festive season throughout the month of December. Basically, I’m a nosy person and enjoy seeing how other people live their lives, so I’m a massive fan of watching vlogs. Everyone celebrates Christmas differently, some people decorate very little, some go all out, either way I really enjoy seeing how people choose to celebrate, getting into the spirit and also how much more outgoing and sociable people are during the festive season. As it is blogmas, it made sense to do a vlogmas themed post, so the five ladies below are five channels that I’ve been obsessed with this vlogmas!

Sopherina

I originally started following on Instagram after finding her blog. Her YouTube channel definitely seems to be going from strength to strength; full of hauls and tags, but at the minute I’m loving her ‘24 Days of Sopherina’, which is alternative version of vlogmas. Each day, we see her day to day life but I’m really loving seeing the unboxing of advent calendars and new products. I always feel like the camera just loves her but at the same time she does come across as a normal girl who simply loves life. My favourite vlog so far has been the one featuring her favourite Christmas films as it was the perfect way to get into the festive season and there were some absolute classics included in the list!

RhiannonAshleeVlogs 

As any regular readers of my blog will know, I’m a massive fan of Rhiannon and have been for years now; we’re the same age but live completely different lives and that’s one of the reasons why I adore her vlogs so much. I always look forward to her Vlogmas series as her vlogs in general are really chilled and down to earth, viewers get to see her day to day life and her daughter is so lovely to watch, especially as she’s getting older and able to talk and be more involved. I can’t wait to see their family continue to grow and see them enjoy the festive season together, after all, Christmas is always more enjoyable when they are children around to boost the happy moods. Even if her vlogs aren’t the most eventful, I love her honest view of everyday life and watching her cook is so relaxing.

Sophie Louise Porter

I’ve been subscribed to Sophie for a while, after finding her Harry Potter related videos and so I was excited to see that she was participating in vlogmas this year. Her channel has actually grown so much lately, but her content is the same as ever, which is something that is lovely to see. Her vlogmas series have been pretty full on, it seems like she leads the busiest of lives, she’s always shopping, cooking or cleaning! I just love how down to earth she is, as well as how open she is about her love of Disney... I mean, a Disney themed tree is the dream for most people, so she’s living the good life. Her vlogs are definitely getting little old me ready for Christmas!

Katie Snooks

Usually I watch Katie’s weekly vlogs, so I was amazed to see some daily vlogs; her voice is really soft and calming, which is always a good sign for any vlogs haha. I like seeing her confidence grow as her acne begins to disappear more and more, as well as watching her declutter her house, her make up collection and her wardrobe, it feels so realistic as that’s the kind of everyday things that everyone does. I loved her Blogger Bake Off vlogmas episode, seeing her bake and be creative and every loves a bit of GBBO and it was basically the blogger version. Katie is super honest with her viewers, talking about how she’s feeling and her anxiety levels a lot, but at the same time she makes an effort to enjoy life and that’s why I like her vlogs so much, she does her best to make the most of life.

SophDoesVlogs

Recently I subscribed to Sophie’s vlogging channel after being an avid watcher of her main channel for months. She actually vlogs pretty regularly, and during vlogmas she’s uploading even more regularly, which is nice. I liked watching her choose a Christmas tree and decorating her house; it was such a basic thing to watch but actually really interesting. She also vlogger her attendance of the Blogger Bake Off, where she had a bit of a creative meltdown, haha. She’s definitely one of the more relatable YouTubers, she fangirls a lot and I liked seeing her talk about her tattoos and piercings without lecturing on how to care for them. She’s genuinely excited by the opportunities she gets and her vlogs are a great way to nose around her life.

Hello again guys; this month I've been watching a lot of Harry Potter related videos as I'm super excited to visit the Harry Potter studios later on this month and so that has had a huge influence on what I've been watching. Generally, however I'm a massive lover of vlogs as they're usually pretty chilled out and so they're great to watch when you want to relax. I tend to watch YouTube videos before I go to sleep and so I do tend to go through phases of what I like to watch, whether that's beauty, homeware and decor, fan based videos or vlogs as it depends on my moods. I'm a bit sad because one of my favourite vloggers hasn't been uploading recently so I've been having to find other people to watch, haha. I like watching people who show their everyday lives without coming across as braggy or overconfident; it's nice to simply watch real life. I've been discovering YouTubers with less followers too, which is nice as it's always good to see how people improve and progress over time. 

LaurasAlwaysPottering

I found Laura through searching for Harry Potter related videos and more or less every single one of her videos is a Harry Potter fan related video, which is amazing. Within that genre, she posts a variety of hauls, merchandise collections, room tours and reviews. She's definitely someone who is super interested in the wizarding world, including cosplay tutorials for many different characters, although her version of Hermione Granger is the one that sticks in my mind the most but she does also cosplay characters that aren't Harry Potter related. I've been enjoying watching her very easy to follow DIYs too, for example she made a cool version of Dumbledore's elder wand that's a great alternative to buying a wand.

Sophielouisebeauty 

I've been subscribed to Sophie for a while now and she's honestly so down to earth and not afraid of laughing at herself, which I love to watch so much. Her recent series of moving vlogs have been some of my go to videos to watch because she's funny whilst showing us around her house without coming across as bragging in any way. During the move you see lots of attempts at building which almost always results in her boyfriend finishing it off (hilarious because she has a sense of humour about everything) and a variety of homeward hauls and as a viewer it just feels like you really get to know the real Sophie and I love how natural she is when she vlogs, so I'm hoping she starts uploading vlogs more regularly as they're so enjoyable to watch.

BookRoast

Another Harry Potter fan, I instantly fell in love with Gintare as she has the most beautiful way of speaking, both in her mannerisms and her accent. As her channel name suggests, her videos mostly include book related content such as her Harry Potter book collection, a bookshelf tour and 7 days of top 7 book inspired topics including characters and easy reads to name a couple. Her video ideas are super creative and I feel like she shows her interests really well; her Hogwarts house make up tutorials are the best that I've seen as she's really put thought into it as well as truly recreating the values of the houses. She has a great range of unboxing videos too, including book box, Harry Potter geek gear, owcrate and fairy loot which are great as I do eventually want to subscribe to a gift box so it's lovely to peek at the kinds of gifts that are inside them.

LovisAmbjörnsson

Another newfound channel for me, I originally started watching her Harry Potter collection, which is one of the loveliest collections that I've seen on YouTube as she has such unusual (to me) versions of the books and some great merchandise, such as Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem. Lovis also has a beautiful voice due to her Swedish accent (I love accents, can you tell?) but I also love her cinematic style; the thumbnails, typeface and lighting effects are so consistent and look so professional I'm amazed that she doesn't have more followers. She's definitely more of a beauty and lifestyle YouTuber with some detailed videos on skincare, study tips and hair care routines alongside many other topics.

Finally, my final favourite YouTuber this month is another new discovery for me; once again Michelle has an incredible accent as she is Dutch, but I actually found her channel through a Harry Potter collection video and from there I literally binged on so many of her videos. I absolutely loved seeing the different variations of the Harry Potter books that she owns in different languages too; similarly, I loved her bookshelf tour as we have a similar taste in books. Alongside the Potterhead videos, she also uploads content such as book hauls, tag and challenges, vlogs and unboxing videos. She deserves many more subscribers as her videos are so well set up and the content is great; she's so passionate about the topics she uploads and she just seems so genuinely lovely. 

Snippets of Life: August

Hello again guys; I actually can't believe that we're saying goodbye to summer and hello to autumn already! August is always a busy month for me as it seems like everyone in my family has their birthday during August, so it has been pretty busy... During August I did a lot of things and actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would after a difficult start to the month.Over the summer months I really love the longer nights; it's such a lovely thing to be able to stay out late and watch the sun set at around 9pm; as you'll know if you've been reading my blog for a while, one of my favourite things to do is go for a river walk and watch the sun set for the night. I've been trying to enjoy every moment of life during this month and so I've been spending a lot of time with friends and family; for Piotr's birthday we spent the night in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire which was lovely, eating some good food and enjoying having the time to not do a lot of things, just having company and a nice view of the urban countryside. If I'm honest, August has been a very indulgent month; I've ate and drank whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted and I can feel the extra pounds, but whatever. Happiness should always be the ultimate goal. The images below are some of the photographs that I've loved looking back on and thinking that this month was great. Now to look to September and keeping that positive outlook on life that I've been feeling recently!

Snippets of Life: August Favourites

Hello again; its now late August which means that another month has gone by so quickly! I actually can't believe that its almost autumn and therefore this year is rapidly coming to an end. This month has been quite a long one, mostly because I haven't had much time off so it has felt like work, work, work a lot of the time. I'm actually super excited for the autumn months as its my favourite season, but at the same time I'll be sad to say goodbye to long summer evenings. As always, my go to make up brushes are those by  the Real Techniques brand and I've been using them on a day to day basis. I own several different styles by the brand, including the Core Collection, Your Picks Berlin Limited Edition and the Enhanced Eye Set amongst some that I've bought individually for specific use, such as the stippling brush. They are fairly expensive brushes, but I would say that they last a long time, which makes the price worth it. I rarely use any other brush since I bought these brushes so they're a definite favourite for me. Another product that I love more or less every month is the MakeUp Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave eyeshadow palette. It's literally a bloggers dream as not only does it look amazingly beautiful in photographs as well as in person, I've honestly never seen a palette with shades like this one. There are so many different shades that the price tag of £9.99 is worth it, as a high end version would be well over twice the price. I'd even go as far as to say this is my favourite palette of all time.

In the perfume side of the beauty world, I've been loving three perfumes more than any other the moment. All of them were gifted to me by my boyfriend and as much as I love each one, my favourite by far has to be the Princess of Hearts by Vera Wang due its beautiful notes of watermelon, jasmine and strawberries. It makes me feel super feminine and the bottle itself its very pretty with the pink hearts and crown detailing. I'm a fan of Vera Wang perfumes in general (I have at least seven in my collection) so I'm sure that it will come as no surprise that I was incredibly excited to receive the hard to find Princess Revolution and I suddenly realised that I've been wearing this scent quite often recently. I feel confident and also slightly rebellious whenever I wear this, its a sensual mix of cherry, blood orange and watermelon. The bottle is like a punkier version when compared to the other Princess scents but it is definitely a great summer scent.

I've been loving girly, fruity and floral scents this month; the Fantasy In Bloom perfume is no exception to that. The bottle itself is very cute with the Cherry Blossom patterned detailing again the soft pink background and golden stopper. As you would expect, it smells hugely of cherry blossom, berries and jasmine. I've been wearing this a lot to feel fresh and ready for the day; I'm definitely the kind of person that matches a scent to their mood. All three perfumes are under £20 and so an absolute bargain for the size of the bottles. The 'Obliviate' notebook was a bit of a surprise gift; Piotr bought it in Waterstones for me whilst we were celebrating his birthday and so it seems extra special now. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and have been since I was a child so naturally I love the Fantastic Beasts spin off; priced at £7.99, it wasn't unreasonable but it is fairly expensive for the size of the notebook, but that said the quality and attention to detail is amazing and I know that I'll treasure this notebook.

The final part of my monthly favourites is beauty related; since the weather has been fairly humid I've been wearing less make up overall other than mascara. One of my all time favourite mascaras is the Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express and I've used it so much recently that I've actually repurchased it. Priced at £7.99 I would definitely recommend trying out this mascara; it has a plastic wand with bristles in varying sizes. I've found that makes the longest, most volumised and spidery lashes and honestly it definitely beats some of the more expensive mascaras that I've tried for a more affordable price tag. The other mascara that I've been loving is the L'Oréal Paris Miss Baby Roll which is also priced at £7.99; it's a more dry formulated mascara which makes it harder to work with, but it produces the curliest and most volumised lashes. I've been so impressed with it but I feel like it's more of a going out mascara than an everyday mascara.

I've been obsessed with having thick, natural looking tamed brows this summer and I've found two products that I absolutely love to use to achieve using this effect. The first product is the L'Oréal Paris Xpert Brow Artist in the shade Cool Blonde. It's the perfect shade for me as it is more like a taupe/dark blonde as my brows are quite dark for my pale hair skin. It has a double sided applicator, one for thickening the brows and the other for blending through. Priced at £6.99 it is an affordable addition to a make up bag and I'm really pleased with the results. After using it I then set my brows in place with Benefit's Ready, Set, Brow! Although this is more of a high end piece priced at £20, I'd argue that this is worth the money as it literally sets the brows neatly in place all day long and doesn't clump and gives a natural hold because it's a clear gel. The last favourite is the L'Oréal Paris Infallible 24hr Foundation which is simply the perfect pale shade for my skin and actually blends well into my skin. It has excellent coverage and doesn't feel heavy, or look cakey at all. It's fairly expensive for the drugstore, priced at £10.99 but a good foundation is worth every penny. It's so easy to apply and makes me so confident whenever I use it that it has quickly become my favourite foundation. What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments! :)

August Playlist!

Hello again guys; I've mentioned before how much I love listening to music when travelling, whether that's on the bus, the train or walking. I'm one of those strange people that still walks around with an old iPod, rather than using my iPhone. I don't know why, I just prefer to have the space that the music would take up on my phone on another device and I always loved iPods growing up. I've used one since I was thirteen years old and that's looking unlikely to change. I'm thinking that I should probably keep an iPod because I will eventually make time to go to a gym or a dance class and so music will make any form of excerise seem much less stressful; music can definitely change a mood. On my iPod I have so many playlists made up for different occasions; a positivity playlist, a cheesy playlist, a journeys playlist and many more. This month I've been loving a range of genres (like always) but I've refound my love of the band Placebo.

Hello again guys; I've had one of those funny weeks so all of my blog posts have been slightly random, although that's actually how I like blogging, if I'm completely honest. It feels real and it's a genuine reflection of what what I'm like in life. This month I've been watching a lot of Harry Potter related videos, in preparation for visiting the Studio Tour myself next month! Alongside that, I've been getting into vlogs, homeware and beauty videos. I like to watch YouTube when I'm in bed, before I go to sleep so that if I don't fully remember what I've watched, there's always the option to watch it again. YouTube is definitely something that I would be too shy and awkward to talk so confidently to a camera, so I admire those you do. Every month I watch different kinds of videos, rather than the same people or the same kind of video and I think that's what keeps it interesting.

Cherry Wallis

Through searching for the 'Harry Potter Tag', I found Cherry's channel and instantly fell in love with her magically inclined videos; a fabulous range of homeware and lifestyle, whether that's Primark (Harry Potter) clothing, a room tour, beauty hauls and Harry Potter videos including which (replica) horcruxes she owns, her wand collection and an overall Harry Potter collection amongst many others. I like how she collaborates with other Potterheads on occasion and also uploads regular videos such as peeks into her bag and make up tutorials. 

Tessa Netting

Another Potterhead on YouTube, I found Tessa's channel from one of the many Potterhead collaborations in the online world and was hooked fairly quickly; she's best described as both quirky and cool with a little bit of geek (which is not a bad thing at all!) I've been enjoying her hauls and unboxing videos and does post some fantastic reviews, for example the Cursed Child review was not only descriptive, but also fairly neutral; it felt honest and real, a genuine reflection of her feelings about the play. She collaborates with other YouTubers fairly regularly and definitely does her part of charity with her #Luna4Lumos live feeds, so she's one the more selfless people around in this world!

I have been suscribed to Rosie for a couple of years now and I love how down to earth she is; from baking and make up tutorials, to just general lifestyle and testing videos, she is always a pleasure to watch. She's very bubbly and it feels like she's literally talking to you (as a viewer) like a friend and she does seem really honest; not all of her reviews are positive, which is nice to see. Out of all of her uploads, my personal favourites are definitely her travel vlogs as she visited so many beautiful places and the vlogs literally mad me so desperate to travel the world as soon as possible!

RhiannonAshlee - RhiannonAshleeVlogs

I've been watching Rhiannon's videos for around 5 years or so; she was the first person I ever subscribed and I've loved watching her little family grow. Her vlogs are hugely relaxing and I feel like they're a true representation of her actual life; its not all glitz, glamour and parties. She doesn't edit out a bad day and I like that, its refreshing to see that she's a normal girl. Her little girl is very cute, but I have to admit I can't believe I watched her pregnancy vlogs and now there is a one year old to watch as well as beauty and fashion videos.

JustJodes - JustMoreJodes

I only recently discovered her channel, but Jodie is another YouTuber who I always feel gives anhonest opinion; her videos are quite creative as they're a mix of everything, including beauty, fashion, testing various products and many other avenues. Recently I've been enjoying her vlogs and her homeware hauls, particularly her recent room tour; basically I'm a bit nosy and like getting an intimate look into how other people live. One of the reasons I watch Jodie so often now is because she comes across as super friendly, as well as honest so I feel like I'm not gonna to end up wanting to spend thousands of pounds that I don't have, she's literally so normal and I love that.

July Moodboard

Hello again; this month I've got two spontaneous piercings... My left tragus and my nose! I actually have so many piercings now (sixteen in total) that I'm bordering on more metal than girl, oops. Which is why I've been loving looking at piercing arrangements online as I've rediscovered my love for piercings. When I was at university I used to get new piercings regularly, but that habit stopped when I worked in the food industry. Luckily I now have a job that allows my piercings to be on full display! All of the images below were found using google image searches and most of them are from Tumblr and Pinterest. Ever since I dyed my hair pink last month I feel quite experimental in terms of my hair, although I want to grow my hair very long again. I'm feeling super inspired by 'mermaid' style hair, long and flowing with crazy hair colours, although I think I'll go back to blonde soon. After spending 24 years with blonde hair, the pink is fun but blonde is just easier to care for. I've refound my love for Cath Kidston through my summer wardrobe; I have so many of her 1950s style dresses... Buses, Clocks, Leaves, Townhouses, etc. However I really want to start buying more styles, I wish I could find the Trains or Books dresses, I'm in love with the whimsical prints and the cut of the dresses really suits my curvy figure. I'm not a huge fan of the heat of summer, but I do wearing girly dresses and just generally going out and making an effort to look nice. Hello again; over the past couple of months I've found Pinterest to be a fantastic source of inspiration for my blog, my wardrobe, my hair... Just life in general. It's bad to be a bit like 'oh all of these images are from Pinterest', but if I'm honest, they actually are! This month I was so inspired by pink hair, so I ended up dying my hair pink, all thanks to some of the beautiful images below. At the minute I'm loving the festival and boho chic fashions and hairstyles, as well as vintage tea dresses and long summer days. I would say that my blog is a bit of an 'everything, anything' blog, I post what I like and I'm definitely inspired by other blogs and images that I see around. The images below demonstrate the kind of images I would love to produce with some time and practice, as I'm constantly looking for ways to improve my blog and content. May Favourites

Hello again everyone, I honestly don't know where this month (in fact, this year) has gone too! Literally it feels like it could still be March but apparently it's almost June, half the year has almost disappeared right under my nose! Now, I'm loving this warmer weather with its brighter skies (the humidity not so much) as well as the items you'll see in the photographs below. I've read so many books in the past few months but my top two for this month have to be The Muse and A Year of Marvellous Ways as although they're very different, both of them exceeded my expectations to the point that I cannot recommend them enough! My boyfriend bought me the Valentina perfume for Christmas and I've been in love with it ever since; it's such a lovely feminine and floral scent in a classy bottle. Similarly, he bought me the Vera Wang perfume for my birthday and I absolutely adore the smell of pink grapefruit; I've been spritzing so often I know that I'll probably end up buying another one when it's all used up! I've been in love with Marc Jacobs perfumes for years now, the Blush and Sunshine editions are super feminine, pink and floral. I use them not only for my go to perfumes, but also for blog photographs so they're basically multi purpose.

Make up wise, I'm in love with the MakeUp Revolution Fortune Favours the Brave palette as it's not only super affordable, but looks stunning in my blog photographs as well as great on the skin. There's so many shades and colours to create many different looks that I think it suits all skin tones. I'm a massive lover of red lipstick as it really makes my lips pop against my pale skin tone; ever since I purchased Ruby Woo by MAC I've loved it, although I find it's more drying in the lips than my absolute favourite, the Blake Lively red for L'Oréal does. That said, I've been wearing them both so much this month and I felt super glamourous whenever I wore them. I've also found the lightest foundation ever, it literally matches my ghostly complexion so well, so kudos to L'Oréal for that. Plus, it lasts all day even in the sun so I know it's going to be one of those products that I'll be repurchasing after lots of use. Real Techniques are definitely my favourite brushes, I use them all the time and I've recently bought some more eye specific brushes that have really improved the application of my eye make up. In terms of highlighter, I'm loving the MUA highlighters at the minute as they're so affordable and so incredibly pigmented, they look so expensive on the skin. Lastly, I'm loving the NYX liquid lipsticks in the Suede Sandstorm and the Matte Lip Cream in London; both of them are nude shades but they feel so nice on the lips and work well for both night and day looks.
