Favourite Blogs #11

Hello again; I'm sorry that I've gone a bit downhill with blog posts over the past week, I've been struck down with flu so literally couldn't leave my bed. I'm still not feeling 100% but I'm better, but I really want to get back on top of things, including this blog. As a new month is a upon us, I feel like it makes sense to start off July with a post that I should really have posted in June before I was ill, but as they say: better late than never! I like to write posts relevant to that time, which includes various forms of monthly favourites, which is where this post slots in. As a blogger, I find so much inspiration from other blogs; throughout this month I've been loving revisiting some blogs that I've loved for years now. I can only dream of being as polished as these ladies! I really enjoy reading other blogs and have been reading various blogs for years now. I feel like June disappeared from right under my nose, so I expect that July will likely whizz by. Let me know if you like these kinds of posts in the comments! :)

I've been reading Kristabel's blog for years now and I just love her creative vision; the photography and layout of her blog are just completely stunning, just like she is. Her posts stretch across a variety of topics, including travel, fashion, beauty, lifestyle and food. My favourite posts are a mix of fashion and travel; her outfits alongside beautiful buildings always look stunning, as she always dresses well for her long and lean shape. After blogging for many years and having a degree in fashion, it's no wonder that her posts are so close to perfection; every single one of her posts never fails to capture my attention, regardless of the content.

Olivia's blog is the kind of blog that I can only dream that my little blog will ever be as good as! There's something effortlessly lovely in her personal style; to me, she's the perfect blend of parisienne and london chic. Basically, her photography ticks all of the boxes, wherever she in the world and whatever she's wearing. I've been reading her blog since I was a sixth former (so a very long time) and she's always been flawless. My favourite posts of hers are fashion (the 70s/boho vibe is a winner), travel and baking. That being said, I also really enjoy her book reviews as they're often books that I've been planning to read so inspire me to read them before I get distracted and read other things.

Ever since I found Katy's blog I haven't stopped returning to it; her posts offer a fantastically intimate set of photographs from various travels, such as Singapore or Scotland. I like her positive attitude to life, how she writes lists and has an opinion on many different subjects. Her blog actually influenced my own so much, but honestly I'm just so in awe of her beautiful photography. Many of her posts encapsulate travel, lifestyle, food and personal style; although I'm sure the most popular are her travel guides and reviews of various eateries in different cities. She's one to watch of you want to eat out somewhere in London, she's reviewed so many places.

Elizabeth's blog is a pastel, romantically inclined persons dream (in short, my dream); I really adore how she expresses her love for nature, lifestyle, her child and beauty in her posts. There's something slightly ethereal and magical about her blog in general and I cannot explain how much I love her blog header with its vintage camera and written typeface. My favourite posts are the make up reviews as she often reviews products that suit pale skin, so it's super useful for someone like me, who is also of a ghostly complexion. Her photography is lovely, particularly of the countryside that surrounds her; it looks so peaceful!

Another blog that I've been reading for a few years is Carrie's; her wedding posts were those of dreams, it looked like it was the most beautiful of beautiful days. I would say she's an avid travel blogger, documenting trips all over the world, including Finland, Japan, Morocco and Italy amongst many others. You definitely feel the travel bug when you read her travel posts with their stunningly captured landscapes and reviews of various local restaurants. Alongside travel posts, she's a beauty, fashion and foodie blogger as well as a talented photographer. I love browsing through the archives of her oldest posts, they're fascinating to see how much she's grown in a few years.

Favourite Blogs #10

Hello again; every month I enjoy discovering new blogs and rediscovering some old favourites. It's a fantastic way to find inspiration and get to know other people. There's something nice about getting to know a person through their likes and dislikes - blogging is a positive way to find out what you like and dislike. At the minute I've been reading a lot of blogs, through twitter and instagram, I like finding out about new blog posts, new bloggers and getting some honest reviews on a variety of things. Bloggers are usually honest, far more relatable than print in a magazine and they also cater for people like me; if I want to know about a make up product for someone with pale skin, I'll look out for a blogger that fits that category. There's definitely a blogger available for anyone, if you look hard enough. I'm loving twitter as way of communicating with other bloggers, and it's an easy way of clicking on blog post that takes your fancy. Elizabeth's blog is ultra feminine and undeniably pretty; the soft pastels, natural make up looks and whimsical, pretty photographs of countries such as Italy, it's definitely a dreamy blog. I've been reading this blog for a while now as I love the layout and the romantic theme; there are make up reviews from brands like Benefit and Too Faced, which is lovely as they're quite expensive so it's nice to see honest reviews on them. She's also a fashionista, with many blog posts focussing on outfit choices and what she's listing after from the shops at the moment. There are also some cute little snippets of her young child; he's got a lovely little face and it's crazy seeing how quickly they grow! I also like her book reviews, she's got a classic style in all areas of her life.

I actually found Abby through her twitter page; ever since then I've really been loving her blog! Although I've been to Paris myself, her photography and posts just capture a magic about the city that I've never managed to see. Alongside her Paris posts, there are also fashion, beauty and travel based blog posts; my favourite of these are the definitely the travel posts. She has a way of capturing the parts of the world that most of us overlook. I've always wanted to visit Budapest and her post on the city has definitely encouraged me to make a trip sometime as it looks incredible! I'm a sucker for beautiful architecture and you'll love this blog if you also adore architecture, particularly those in Europe.

Another blogger that I've discovered from my new love affair with twitter; I fell in love with her blog instantly. The layout is simple and pleasing to the eye that it's just a lovely read. She's a blogger who covers a variety of topics such as beauty, travel, lifestyle and fashion. I admire her honestly, particularly when it comes to mental health topics such as anxiety. She's open with her readers, addressing her life regrets and also posting some honest reviews on a variety of things including films but mostly make up products. I like that she reviews mostly drugstore items as that's more realistic for my budget, so I was excited to read her posts on some MakeUp Revolution items as I do like to know if something is worth it prior to buying. Plus, I really loved her 'Dear Friends', it said so much about how she great she clearly is as a friend!

I originally found Eleanor's blog through her instagram page; I really like how she covers so many different topics such as beauty, fashion, lifestyle and feminism amongst many others. As a sufferer of mental health myself, it was so reassuring to see her share her own mental health story; it's fantastic that blogging has become an outlet for these kinds of issues. It was a great way to remember that you're never alone. Her taste in books is also great, as an avid reader myself I do love a good book review! Anyone who blogs about Harry Potter is always going to be onto a winner with me, as it was basically my whole childhood. Regardless of all of these things, her blog layout is also simple but effective as it's so easy to follow. The blog headings allow you to pick what posts you feel like delving into, which is very helpful.

 

Favourite Blogs! #6

One of the things that I genuinely enjoy about each month is discovering more of the blogging world and learning more about what kind of content I like to read and hope to write myself one day. It feels like every month is a learning curve in terms of blogging (I'm still a relatively new blogger) and so finding new blogs to read is a fantastic way to find inspiration and also gives me a bit of a focus, a want to keep going. This month I've been loving the five blogs listed below and I'm looking forward to reading more of their posts in the next few months.

This is one of the blogs that I found incredibly recently and I really love its pink, pastel romantic feel. It's definitely a girly blog with a massive love of pink, to the point that even the suggested buys or hauls are all pink items. I like the mix of hauls, baking, fashion and beauty items. The majority of the posts are beauty reviews of new or recently discovered products, mostly in pink. One of the most interesting things about her posts is that they're very simple with stunning photography that includes little snippets of her personal life, such as her son or her must have beauty items of the moment. You start to feel a closeness through the internet with people, which is strange but nice.

Mostly a lifestyle blogger, you can see Chloe's creative and media influences throughout her blog. As she is a media graduate, you can see the more creative side of her through her photography. It's also nice to see how she embraces where she lives and make a guide to things to see in Bristol for readers who have been asking where the best places are to visit. However what I liked the most was the more honest posts, on fairly unusual topics like the contraceptive pill or why she doesn't like growing up and getting older. It's nice to read real life experiences and not just sponsored posts, you feel a kind of relationship with the writer.

Jessica's blog is definitely very established and has a wide range of posts to suit a variety of different audiences; one of the best things about her blog is that she posts regularly so there's always something new to see or read. More recently she's started posting a lot about fitness, which I'm liking as I'm hoping to force myself into fitness a little more this year. However, on the whole her posts are very fashion based, with references to styling, current trends and how to tailor clothing to specific shapes. All of these are interesting, but my favourite posts are the most lifestyle related posts, I just seem to like seeing how other people enjoy their lives.

I found Bethan's blog fairly recently and liked it almost instantly, it's nice to see someone who likes a lot of things be passionate about all her different interests. I enjoy reading her posts about books she's read  and what kinds of books she plans to read. Her photography is very simple and subtle but works well against the layout of her blog which is also fairly simple but effective. I particularly liked her blogmas posts of Christmas markets and decorations as well as a theme of 'Sunday posts' which I really like the idea of rounding up a good or bad week in one post; each month she writes a post about what she's looking forward to that month which seems like a great way to stay both positive and focussed.

Holly is a perfect example of a young fashionista whose blog has formed a career; working as a model she's got a very lovely ethereal beauty that matches well with her simplistic yet sophisticated blog. She often posts about fashion or what shoots she's done recently, which is interesting to see and the quality of the photographs are obviously fantastic. She's naturally loved by the camera, but equally seems totally passionate about what she posts on her blog and what she wears and how she styles herself. However, what's also great is that she talks about serious issues too, such as mental health issues which raises awareness to younger teens and or those her age too.
